Villefranche-sur-Saône revisited

lace_curtain2.jpg Forgive the trip down memory lane, but it is now 20 years since I took the picture on the left, in someone's house in Villefranche-sur-Saône, on my way to be a student in Zagreb. That was a year after working in the same town in the Theâtre de Villefranche on Malcolm Williamson's La Mer Rouge with what seemed like hundreds of children, and people who became good friends at the time - Carole, Philippe (Pharoah), Thierry (Moses), Olivier, Madeleine (set designer), and the family of Arlette Picard.

The point is, we've all got little bits of other people's history in our photograph albums, but they are histories that we'll probably never be able to put back together again. I can't think how it would work, but it strikes me that the web is the perfect medium for putting historical jigsaws like this together.

And Thierry, Olivier et al, if you're reading this, get in touch!
